In Person Event For Leicester Year 6 Children
Project FREE hosted a unique event for Year 6 pupils from Leicester to explore their thoughts and feelings about moving from Primary to Secondary school. We will produce a booklet, or Transition Toolkit, to support future Year 6 pupils across the city. This toolkit will be available to all schools in an electronic format and printed copies will be sent to the schools that took part.
The event took place on June 10th at King Power Stadium, thanks to everyone who contributed to our Spacehive crowdfunding campaign.
We were joined by the amazing pupils from Shaftesbury Juniors, Slater Primary, Queensmead Academy, Caldecote Primary, and Taylor Road Primary.
In Person Learning Events
We will be hosting free in-person learning experiences where there will be an opportunity to learn and un-learn.
We will focus on sharing lesser told histories, lived experiences, & marginalised knowledge - this work will focus on education beyond the traditional offerings of the curriculum to ignite curiosity & critical thinking.
We will provide opportunities to share creative, cultural & community knowledge with others. The handing down of ‘ancestral’ knowledge by those of diasporic communities to others within it, and those from other communities, we seek to provide young people with opportunities to feel connected to their heritage & proud of their history & traditions.
We would love to collaborate with you if you share this purpose and have an idea for a workshop or event.
We will be updating this section soon.
